In 2018, Lethbridge McDonald’s Restaurants, the Ronald McDonald House of Southern Alberta, and Family Centre raised a total of $70,102 to support Family Centre!
Our community knows how important it is to stick together and raise healthy, strong children to shape a better tomorrow. We also know that we are in this together: parents, grandparents, aunties and uncles, neighbors, support agencies and businesses support our children. We all play a part in giving the next generation a tremendous start into their lives. It is the children of today who will make our community grow and become stronger in thirty, fifty years from now. Lethbridge McDonald’s Restaurants know what it takes to build a better future: staying power! For the tenth year straight Lethbridge McDonald’s Restaurants and Family Centre have worked together to make McHappyDay activities successful.
Every year, during the McHappy season (it’s more than just one day!), the local McDonald’s restaurants go all out to call on their customers to help support children and families. On McHappyDay, one dollar from each hot beverage, Happy Meal, and Big Mac goes towards supporting Family Centre (80%) and Ronald McDonald House of Southern Alberta (20%). The Ronald McDonald House of Southern Alberta provides a home away from home for out-of-town families whose children use the children’s hospital in Calgary. Many families from Lethbridge and area have used “The House”.
Every year, Lethbridge McDonald’s Restaurants find new and creative ways to celebrate McHappyDay. Our community responds, digs deeper, and contributes more to supporting children and families. In 2018, Lethbridge McDonald’s Restaurants, the Ronald McDonald House of Southern Alberta, and Family Centre raised a total of $70,102 to keep the lights on and the doors open at Family Centre. What an incredible contribution! McHappyDay is an opportunity for everybody to make a contribution, whether somebody has significant disposable income to invest into our community or whether they simply make a conscious decision to get their cup of coffee that day from McDonald’s to support good causes.
It is an inspiration to see a local business and their customers support the children and families in their community year after year for ten years. This is how we build community together, now and in the future!
