Boo Bash 2018 – Volunteers needed

Special Events Assistants needed – Assisting games, counting people, helping out with the roving gym, assisting at the craft table, face painting, running the photo booth, taking pictures, supervise the bouncy castle, and more. All shifts are 2.5 hours long. Click title for more information.

 

Family Centre’s Volunteer Program places volunteers for a variety of positions. Orientation, training, supervision and performance evaluations are offered for all volunteers.

Rewarding Volunteer Positions include:

Early Childhood Assistants – Family Centre offers a number of parent and child programs where you interact with children and their caregivers in our Melcor Playroom / Ronald McDonald Play Area, Iron Works Indoor Playground, Opokaa’sin and Interfaith programs.

Special Events Assistants – Family Centre participates in a number of FUN events which enables us to raise funds as well as interact with the community. Santa Photos, McHappy Day, and our Whoop-Up Day Pancake Breakfast are just a few.

Clerical Assistants – People wanting to gain or maintian their clerical skills can take advantage of many opportunities.

Centre of Excellence – The centre has had a flow of materials and resources that require maintenance, inventory, and modernization. As well an opportunity for preparation of materials for community events.

Counselling Department Assistants – Our counselling services offer a variety of programs designed to assist with personal growth, strengthening relationships, resolving issues and finding solutions. Volunteers assist the counsellors in a variety of ways.

Intake Counsellor – Family Centre currently offers this position on a volunteer basis. Many students who are in the 3rd and 4th year of university fill this position.

Board of Directors and Committees – Opportunities are available to grow and strengthen Family Centre. Applications are accepted from January through March.

We have a great practicum based volunteer opportunity through the University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge College. We also use the SCiP program.

Family Centre serves a culturally diverse community and therefore we will recruit a diverse volunteer population to contribute as much to the quality of services as to the quantity.
