Family Centre > Counselling

Family Centre is able to provide short-term counselling services at no cost to our clients thanks to a generous, anonymous donor. We are able to see individuals, couples, families and youth aged 7 and up for up to 6 sessions. To qualify, you must care for, or currently have at least one child under 18 years of age and live in the Lethbridge area.

In addition, at the time of registration, the intake coordinator will ask you a few short questions about your family’s financial situation. The COVID-19 crisis has hit our community and province hard, with many families experiencing job loss and various other financial stresses. Our counselling services are currently reserved for families who do not have coverage through extended benefits (e.g. Employee Assistance Program) and cannot afford to access conventional support at full price.
Family Centre is serious about your safety and comfort during this unprecedented time. Counselling can take place over the phone, via video conference, or face-to-face while observing the AHS recommended physical distance. Our friendly staff will inform you of all the necessary precautions we must take to stay healthy at the time you make your appointment if you do choose in-person services.”

Download our handbook if you need help to decide whether or not Family Centre Services meet your needs.
